I know i said would do a Porto Preview today
but have decide to postpone
Last night was the misses was at work
so me and the kid watched some footy
and what would you know
the reserves where playing The pensioners
And did the double over them
Get In
In’t it great to see The Arsenal excel across
all areas of the club,
another hallmark of the Wenger era.
pre game
First Team: 3rd place (6 points behind 1st)
Reserves: 2nd place (2 points behind 1st)
U18’s: 1st place (8 points ahead of 2nd)
Ladies: 2nd place (4 points behind 1st, but 6 games in hand of 1st and 4 games in hand of 3rd!!!!!)
We'll follow the Arsenal over land and sea
back to game
Shea
Coquelin – Miquel – Ayling – Evina
Henderson – Frimpong - Barazite – Sunu –
JET-Freeman
Subs: Dunn, Byles, Yennaris, Deacon, Ozyakup
according to AFC.com we lined up 442
but i think was little more organic than that
the pitch at griffan park
was site for a old fan
a proper pitch
just like my old days at gladstone park
As for the game first half was bit poxey
much like the dippers game
chances that did come up where stifled by the pitch
Barazite was finding space and making good runs beyond
but missed a couple of sitters
one due to a nasty bobble
the other was pretty 'orride
Game was pretty open
and eventually
we scored
A JET powerfull run found freeman free in box
and the young man put it away nicely
he is looking gd and didn't look out of depth in reserves
Second half was a much more open game
the team started to realise not to pass along ground
but chip to one another
was end to end for most of the half
but after a time the quality of the young arsenal team
overcame the pensioners
another powerful run by jet to find freeman in space
this time he decide to lay off to sunu
and he stroked it between a defenders legs
little deflection but was on target anyway
0-2
Pensioners tried to get back in to it
and within a few minutes
they had back to a one goal advantage
there main stirker look pretty good
but got tosay was only half watching
lively debate on yogi's site
Do have to mention Nacer Barazite
he was pretty much involved with everything good we did tonight
and his movement was great off ball
for player just back from injury
he looks sharp
is one for the RVP role
another dutch master in the making
if he hadn’t been injured
he prob would have been in first team already
Also JET was a handful as always.
Porto preview will happen as soon as i see the press and wenger
